    North American Trade Schools (NATS) has trained skilled trades professionals for over 20 years. Our welding program prepares students with hands-on training in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, fabrication, and cutting processes.

    We are seeking a skilled Combination Welder ready to transition into a safe, climate-controlled teaching environment and mentor the next generation of welding professionals. No prior teaching experience required—just strong technical skill, professionalism, and a desire to teach others.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and Oxy-Fuel cutting.
    • Demonstrate proper weld preparation, bead formation, joint fit-up, and multi-position welding.
    • Evaluate student welds using visual inspection criteria and applicable AWS standards.
    • Teach blueprint reading, welding symbols, and fabrication math.
    • Maintain shop safety, PPE protocols, and an organized welding environment.
    • Track attendance, grades, and student progress.
    • Prepare students for relevant welding certifications.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of welding experience (structural, pipe, or fabrication).
    • Proficiency in multiple welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW).
    • Ability to weld in various positions (1G–6G).
    • Blueprint reading and weld symbol interpretation.
    • High School Diploma/GED required; AWS certifications a plus.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to coach adult learners.
    • Ability to lift and handle welding equipment and materials.
